FeatureFlight

FeatureFlight Intelligence

Generic software can't know your business. This one learns it.

Our proprietary analysis engine runs on top of your projects, time, and invoices. It learns how you scope, how long the work really takes, and what you actually make on a job, then tells you the few things that need attention today.

Why this exists

The expensive problems are the quiet ones.

The things costing you money don't announce themselves. They sit in your own numbers for weeks before anyone reads them that way.

The money leak.

An extra round of revisions, a favor on a Friday, a “quick change” that ate most of a day. None of it made it onto an invoice.

The project that looked fine.

Nothing flashed red. The client was quiet, the budget was still under. Then the deadline was three weeks out with a month of work left.

The client you thought was your best.

Biggest line on the revenue report, so they get your best people. Nobody has run their labor cost against what they actually pay.

How it learns

Not a benchmark against companies you've never met, and not a chatbot bolted onto a to-do list. Our own engine, reading your work back to you.

  1. It captures from day one.

Every project, task, time entry, and invoice you already record is a data point. Nothing extra to set up, no separate tool to feed.

  2. It learns your patterns, not the industry's.

How you scope, how long the work really takes versus the quote, who pays late, what you actually clear once labor cost is in the math.

  3. It gets sharper every month.

A thin history means fewer confident readings, and it says so rather than guessing. The more work runs through it, the sharper it gets.

Flight Control

Ten dashboards, or one short list.

One button, on the pages where you already work, opening a short ranked list of what actually needs attention right now — split into Delivery and Money, each with a one-click action, all of it worked out from your own history.

  • Dismiss it and it stays quiet. You know things the software doesn't. Dismiss a flag and it stops asking — unless the situation gets materially worse, at which point it isn't the same problem you dismissed.
  • It sits where the decision gets made. It opens from the projects list, invoices, the team page, and the client center — one click from the thing you'd act on, not a reporting section you have to remember to visit. When nothing is wrong it says nothing at all.

Delivery Whether the work is going to land.

  • Project at risk · Its overall reading has dropped into a band that needs a decision, not a note.
  • Health declining · Still in a healthy band, but moving the wrong way.
  • Possible scope change · Work was added that doesn't look like it was in the original agreement.
  • Deadline at risk · The work left and the time left have stopped lining up.

Money Whether you're going to make anything on it.

  • Unbilled work · Logged time that hasn't made it onto an invoice yet.
  • Margin risk · Still delivering, but what you'll actually make on it is shrinking.
  • Heading over budget · At this burn rate it runs past budget before it's finished.
  • Payment overdue · An invoice is past due, with how late and how much is outstanding.

What it works out for you

The numbers nobody has time to work out by hand.

A health reading you can argue with

One 0–100 score per project across seven dimensions, in four bands, showing which ones moved and why. If a dimension can't be judged, it says so instead of guessing.

Scope changes, caught as they're added

Flags work that doesn't look like it was in the original agreement, with the effort involved and a price range from your own project rate.

Real profitability, not budget vs. spend

Actual margin per project and per client, built from labor cost rates, revenue recognition, and time worked.

Which clients are actually worth having

Where revenue and margin diverge, who settles late and by how much, and the rate that would put a client at your target margin.

Quotes built from what the work really took

Prices new work against your own comparable finished jobs — what they actually took, not what they were quoted at.

The kinds of work you should stop taking

Groups your portfolio by type of project and shows you where you consistently lose money.

Also in here: where you're short of hours over the coming weeks, where work is simply distributed badly across the team, and a calibration view showing how accurate its own estimates have been for your organization.

What it won't do

The limits are the product .

An operations tool that quietly makes numbers up is worse than no tool at all.

Your data trains nothing but your own instance. Every organization runs on its own isolated database. No cross-customer training, no benchmarking against other companies' numbers.
AI where it belongs, arithmetic everywhere else. Every financial figure is deterministic calculation, not model output. AI judges scope and matches comparable projects — it never invents a dollar figure.
It declines rather than guesses. Below its data thresholds it returns “not enough data” rather than a confident-looking number you can't trust.
Forecasts are labeled as forecasts. A projection is presented as a projection, with a confidence level attached. Nothing predicted is ever dressed up as something measured.
Every reading is explainable. Open any score, flag, or figure and see which inputs produced it. Nothing is a black box.
It's honest about day one. A brand-new workspace has no history to learn from. Intelligence captures from the moment you sign up and becomes genuinely useful as that history builds.

Questions

The ones buyers actually ask.

Does my data train FeatureFlight's AI?

No. Every organization has its own isolated database, and there is no cross-customer training or benchmarking. FeatureFlight Intelligence learns from your work history to serve your workspace and nothing else. Where AI is involved we use Anthropic's Claude API with no training on input.

Is AI making up my numbers?

No. The financial figures (margin, labor cost, burn, revenue) are deterministic calculations from your own records, not model output. AI is used in two narrow places only: judging whether newly added work was part of the original scope, and finding comparable past projects for estimating.

Does it work on day one?

Partly, and we'd rather say so than overpromise. Findings that read your current records (unbilled time, overdue invoices, budget burn, deadline pressure) work as soon as you have a project running. The parts that learn your patterns, like estimating from comparable jobs, work-type profitability, and calibration, need history behind them. Until they have enough they will tell you there isn't enough data rather than guess.

What if I disagree with something it flags?

Dismiss it and it stays quiet. If the underlying situation gets materially worse it comes back, because at that point it isn't the same problem you dismissed. Scope flags go further: you approve, reject, or mark them in scope, and those rulings feed into how the next one is judged.

How is this different from the reports my current tool already has?

Reports tell you what happened and leave you to work out what it means. FeatureFlight Intelligence works out what it means and surfaces the handful of things worth acting on today, scored against how your business specifically behaves rather than a generic template. It also carries the parts a report can't: real margin after labor cost, estimates drawn from your own completed work, and forecasts on projects that still look fine.
