Logging time
Record work as time entries, either with a live timer or by entering a duration manually, and attach them to a client and project.
Time entries are how work gets recorded in FeatureFlight. You can capture time while you work using the live timer, or add it after the fact with a manual entry. Either way the entry is attached to a client and project so it flows into reports, timesheets, and invoices automatically.
Open the “Add Time Entry” modal
Click Add Time Entry from the Time Logging page. The modal works the same in both places.
Start a live timer
Use the timer when you want to track time as it happens:
- Select a Client from the dropdown, or choose Internal / No Client for overhead work.
- Select a Project.
- If your project uses rate categories, select a Pricing Type.
- Leave Duration blank.
- Click Start Timer. The entry appears in today’s list with a live elapsed-time counter.
- When you finish the work, click Stop Timer. The duration is finalized and saved.
Add a manual entry
Use manual entry for time you’ve already worked, including time on past dates:
- Open Add Time Entry.
- Select a Client (or Internal / No Client) and Project.
- Select a Pricing Type if applicable.
- Enter a Duration. You can type it as a whole number of hours (e.g.
2) or asH:MM(e.g.1:30for 1.5 hours). - If needed, change the Date to any past date.
- Click Save.
