Roles explained

Understand the four roles in FeatureFlight (Admin, Manager, Member, and Guest), what each can do, and how the Org Chart visualizes your hierarchy.

Every person on your workspace is assigned exactly one role. The role sets the ceiling for what that person can see and do, and Admins can then tune individual permissions from there. Here is what each role means in practice.

The four roles

Admin

Admins have full, unrestricted access to the entire workspace. There is no action in FeatureFlight that an Admin cannot perform: workspace settings, billing and the subscription, inviting and removing members, changing anyone’s role, viewing and editing all projects/financials/reports/analytics, exporting data, and the Admin Panel for per-user permissions.

Manager

Managers are project and team leads. They can create and edit most content (projects, taskboards, tasks, clients, goals, and docs) but are intentionally excluded from the most sensitive operations. Managers cannot access billing/subscription or admin settings, create or edit invoices, view time-logging reports, export data, or view all-project financials (only their own projects’, if enabled). Think “everything a project lead needs, nothing a billing admin needs.”

Member

Members are standard contributors doing the work day to day: they log time, work tasks, comment, collaborate, and view project content they’re a member of. They cannot access financials/invoicing, billing, client or team management, or any admin action.

Guest

Guests are external collaborators (clients, contractors, or partners) with limited visibility into only the projects or boards explicitly shared with them through the Guest Access Wizard. They can’t navigate freely across the workspace.
