Project analytics and health

Use FeatureFlight's Pro analytics to track a project's Health Score, spot risk flags early, and see how time is distributed across your team.

Project analytics give you an objective read on how a project is actually going, not just how it feels. Instead of checking in with every team member or tallying tasks by hand, you get a live view of health, risk, and workload pulled directly from the project’s data.

Where to find project analytics

Open the project and go to the Overview tab (or the dedicated analytics view if your workspace has it surfaced as a separate tab). The analytics panel appears alongside the project’s other details.

Health Score

The Health Score summarizes the project’s overall status into one of three states:

  • On Track: the project is progressing as expected. No significant risk signals detected.
  • At Risk: one or more warning signals have been detected. The project needs attention but isn’t in crisis.
  • Critical: multiple or severe signals indicate the project is in trouble and needs immediate action.

The score is calculated automatically from the risk signals below. You don’t set it manually.

Task completion %

Below the Health Score you’ll see a task completion percentage: the share of tasks across the project’s linked taskboards that are in a completed column, out of the total. This gives you a quick sense of how far through the work you actually are.

Risk flags

FeatureFlight automatically surfaces Risk Flags when it detects patterns that often derail projects. Each flag links back to the specific data driving it so you can investigate quickly.

Scope creep

Fires when the number of tasks in the project has grown significantly since the project’s start date. A steady increase in scope without a corresponding budget or timeline adjustment is a common cause of project overruns.

Budget overrun

Fires when invoiced or logged-billable amounts are approaching or have exceeded the project’s Budget. See project financials for how the budget is set.

Timeline slip

Fires when the project’s End Date is approaching (or has passed) and task completion % suggests the work won’t be done in time.

Scope growth

Scope growth tracks how the total number of tasks in the project has changed over time. It’s the underlying data behind the scope-creep flag, but presented as a trend so you can see when growth accelerated and whether it has leveled off.

Time allocation by member

The time allocation breakdown shows how logged hours are distributed across the people working on the project. This makes it easy to spot whether work is concentrated on one person, whether a particular team member is logging significantly more or less than expected, or whether certain roles are carrying more of the load than planned.
