Navigating the app

A tour of every top-level area in FeatureFlight's navigation and what each one is for.

When you first open FeatureFlight, the main navigation on the left side of the screen is your starting point for every area of the platform. This article walks through each section so you know where to go and when.

Home / Dashboard

Home is your personal landing page: a snapshot of what’s active, what’s due soon, and what needs your attention across all your projects. It’s a good place to orient at the start of each day.

Projects

Projects is where all client engagements and internal work live. From here you can see all active projects, open a project’s detail page, or create a new one. Everything in FeatureFlight (time, tasks, invoices, budgets) links back to a project.

See creating a project to get started.

Taskboard and Backlog

Taskboard opens the kanban view for tracking tasks through columns (To Do, In Progress, Done, and any custom columns you add). If a project has multiple boards, you can switch between them here.

Backlog is a separate holding area for tasks that aren’t on any active board yet, useful for capturing future work without pulling it into the current sprint.

See creating a taskboard and columns, moving tasks, and the Backlog for detail.

Messages

Messages is the built-in team chat. It’s organized into channels and direct messages so conversations stay with the right context, with no more hunting through email threads to find a decision.

See messaging basics.

Client Center

Client Center is where you manage your client list: add clients, edit their details, and see all information related to a client. This is the starting point before attaching clients to projects or sending invoices.

On Pro, you can also send PDFs from a client’s Documents tab for eSignature. See sending documents for eSignature.

Invoices

Invoices covers the full billing lifecycle: create invoices manually or generate them from logged time, send them to clients, and record payments. All invoice history lives here.

See creating an invoice and auto-generating invoices.

Schedule

Schedule is a shared team calendar of upcoming events: meetings, milestones, and deadlines everyone can see. Click a date to create an event, set its start and end, and add participants.

To see your Google or Outlook meetings here too, open Calendar Settings and click Connect Google Calendar or Connect Outlook, then approve access on the Google or Microsoft screen. Sync runs both ways, and you can link up to 3 accounts of each kind and show or hide each one from the calendar sidebar.

Time Logging

Time Logging is where you and your team record hours worked against projects and tasks. Logged time feeds directly into billing, invoicing, and reports.

See logging time and time reports.

Teams

Teams is where you organize people into groups, and see who belongs to which projects. It’s also where can you view individual user’s capacity or the overall capacity of an entire team.

See roles explained.

Documentation

Documentation is a built-in wiki for anything your team needs in writing: SOPs, meeting notes, onboarding guides, client briefs, and more. On Pro, AI can help draft and summarize content.

Time Off

Time Off lets team members submit leave requests and lets admins and managers review and approve them, keeping the schedule and capacity planning accurate.

Goals

Goals lets you set and track team or personal objectives tied to milestones.

Org Chart

Org Chart is a visual map of your organization’s structure: who reports to whom, and how teams are organized.

Admin Panel

Admin Panel gives admins a consolidated view of workspace configuration, user management, and org-level settings. Most options here are visible only to users with the Admin role.

Settings (including Subscription)

Settings covers your personal preferences as well as workspace-level configuration. Settings → Subscription is where admins manage the plan, add or remove seats, and view billing history.
